Program aims to strengthen industry leadership through education and collaboration.
WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania, January 3, 2017 – The Pest Rangers President Jeff King has been selected by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) as a member of the first class of its Executive Leadership Program, introduced in November 2016 as an initiative to identify passionate, committed and engaged professionals, and prepare them for leadership roles in the national association.
King, who currently serves as governor of the Northeast Division of the Pennsylvania Pest Management Association (PaPMA) as well as PaPMA education chair, said he looks at the program as an opportunity to meet and collaborate with pest management leaders nationwide.
“When industry representatives from across the country work together, we have the potential to share and build upon our collective knowledge to strengthen our industry’s reputation and lay the foundation for the education and advancement of future generations of leaders,” said King. “I am both honored and excited to be part of this inaugural Executive Leadership Program. I look forward to gaining business and leadership skills I can take back to our state association as well as to my own business, and to contributing my own insights to this national initiative.”
The NPMA Executive Leadership Program, which began on January 3, 2017, blends a two-year self-study curriculum with ongoing interpersonal communication with NPMA leaders, including mentorship. Criteria for participants includes a history of pest management industry involvement, behaviors indicative of leadership potential, the drive to succeed, commitment to the advancement of NPMA and the industry overall, and personal character and integrity.
